CERT City-Wide Drill Sunday October 20, 2013

This Sunday from 1-4PM, we will be participating in the Mountain View City Wide CERT Drill.
To practice the refresher skills, Neighborhood CERTs will activate for a scenario of a Winter Storm. Damage Assessment is the primary activity, and in addition to downed trees and power outages, may include some flooding or even injuries.
As WWNA CERT coordinator, I am planning an event much like a scavenger hunt. Members (bring radios if you have them) will first report to Command Central... 248 Walker Drive Cul de Sac. From there, we will set up a command post with the first person on scene being incident commander. Teams will survey the neighborhood for damage assessment and potential injuries, and will report via FRS radios to the ham radio operator. In turn, the ham, will report in to Mountain View EOC. For a better learning experience for all, I would like to rotate the role of incident commander through-out the drill. We have spare radios if a loaner is needed.
