Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a program designed to prepare Mountain View residents to help themselves, their families and neighbors, in the event of a disaster. The training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available. More details on the Mountain View city website.
CERT neighborhood groups aim at offering a localized response in the event of an emergency. Trained volunteers can assist in light search and rescue, damage assessment, first aid, shelter, coordination of resources, and communication with the City's Office of Emergency Services.
How to volunteer: join the mailing list, visit the Nextdoor group, attend a monthly meeting.
